       One reason I am rather openly trans is to avoid getting to know someone and hanging out with them only to find out they are transphobic and potentially violently so. This can happen with people in the LGBTQ+ community too. I don’t hang out with people anymore and there are many levels as to why but back when I did it was better to get it out there when in a safe situation than riding it out. If I ever date again it will be something I tell them immediately and probably get in writing via a text or something that they are aware. (Not acknowledge I’m trans but just in conversation). This is for my safety.Seems counter to safety maybe, as being seen as a cis white man is obviously safer but once you move to hanging out with people and going to their place or them yours or being out with them, you never know when they might find out or how. Better to know their stance early on in a safe environment where you can escape.I don’t make a thing of it but it’s often incorporated in me talking without me thinking about it.Other people may find it easy to be stealth and not worry about being outed by themselves or someone else or situations but that’s not me.Just thinking.
