I saw a guy that got facial masculinization surgery online. Not nearly as common or talked about as facial feminization surgery. It was my fist time actually encountering someone that had it done and it was just seeing a post online not knowing the guy.I think many trans mascs don’t know it’s an option or can’t get insurance to cover it or whatever.The results looked good.It looks like a rough recovery though. Maybe that’s another reason most trans mascs don’t get it even though many still have dysphoria in that area.

This is what happens when I try to take a photo of myself and she wants attention. Don’t tell my hair stylist I cut my hair. I couldn’t afford a cut this month and needed a buzz. I may end up having to biz the whole thing because I can’t manage a fade. Sigh.

Reading the trans fem clothing thread, I learned I never wore women’s pants where they were made to be worn. I stopped wearing women’s pants when I was 18 and bought them way too big when I did wear them but I’ve always worn them low like I wear my pants now. Underwear below the belly button by a bit and pants below the underwear waistband. Oops.

I leave trans fems to discuss their thoughts on the whole socialized male thing and have learned a lot but don’t argue against the whole socialized a gender situation. I was very much socialized female and it still affects me a decade into my transition. I don’t know a trans masc that denies being female socialized.

To follow this up:To say we were female socialized obviously shows theres more to gender than socialization. I am still 100% a man but because I was female socialized there are certain things I do, certain ways I think, certain ways I speak, etc.

My partner wants to buy a window ac unit for now. I don’t have money for that either. We are guessing the ac needs Freon, which is expensive. So the window unit is less expensive but I have $400 tax due at the beginning of June and have to pay my dentist $200 to avoid collections.(For those not in the us, we have an ac unit for the whole house not like a small room or window unit. It’s central air. So its expensive to fix or get a new one).

I wish more women and fems, especially the trans ones, recognized what great allies and feminists trans mascs can be.Transitioning does not erase the fact that we lived and experienced misogyny. In fact many still do , at least in the medical field and elsewhere if we don’t pass.Yet people try to erase all that because we transitioned.

Edit: she is buying a window unit later today but I’m expected to pay her back. How’s that work when she owes me money? Sigh. It’s because neither of us actually make enough. I did just get a decent raise at least.My partner is cooling off in her car. It’s almost midnight. The air has been out for a couple weeks but today is the worst it’s been, by far. The next couple days should be about the same then the temp will go down a bit again. Lots of hydration for animals and humans. My partner may give in and buy a window unit. I’ve told her I’m broke right now. She actually owes me a ton of money that I will probably never get back so I wouldn’t feel bad if she bought one…

PSA: As much as it’s likely there would be more lesbians if being gay were a choice…There’s still physical and verbal and emotional abuse in lesbian relationships and women can and are abusers. Don't ignore the signs. I was in the lesbian scene for a decade. It’s there too. I especially knew a couple where the victim was an attorney and was truly brutalized by her partner in many occasions.Women can also be brutal with words too.You’re not immune just because you’re with a woman.

People really just casually drop hating men into their feminism and feminist takes. As a trans man who has experienced plenty of misogyny in my life, please restrict your hate to patriarchy, not men.Patriarchy really is the enemy. I’m a huge feminist and support the cause but will definitely not boost someone that casually drops hating men into their takes. You say it too many times and I may distance myself as well, I am a man.I realize it’s not always meant seriously and such but especially if you’re trans, consider your trans siblings, who have experienced plenty of misogyny and want to tear down the patriarchy too and are actively harmed by your words hating men.

I cut the top of my hair again. I’m going to get stuck with the awkward middle fuzzy phase when I want it longer again. The shorter sides blend in to the longer top better now since the sides are a bit longer.Will plan on seeing my hair stylist in about 4 weeks. He won’t have much to work with but should at least be able to give me a nice fade if I don’t trim the sides.

One reason I am rather openly trans is to avoid getting to know someone and hanging out with them only to find out they are transphobic and potentially violently so. This can happen with people in the LGBTQ+ community too. I don’t hang out with people anymore and there are many levels as to why but back when I did it was better to get it out there when in a safe situation than riding it out. If I ever date again it will be something I tell them immediately and probably get in writing via a text or something that they are aware. (Not acknowledge I’m trans but just in conversation). This is for my safety.Seems counter to safety maybe, as being seen as a cis white man is obviously safer but once you move to hanging out with people and going to their place or them yours or being out with them, you never know when they might find out or how. Better to know their stance early on in a safe environment where you can escape.I don’t make a thing of it but it’s often incorporated in me talking without me thinking about it.Other people may find it easy to be stealth and not worry about being outed by themselves or someone else or situations but that’s not me.Just thinking.

Saying “men are evil,” “men suck,” “testosterone is poison,” and similar phrases directly negatively impacts trans men.Trans mascs and men get villainized for transitioning by people. We are turning our back on womanhood, becoming the bad gender, etc. We internalize the above phrases and rhetoric and some even delay transitioning because of this.Trans mascs and men deserve to feel joy and euphoria in transition. It’s actually good for us to embrace manhood and masculinity.

@mjdxp I mean yea. It probably has to do with many of us grew up being subjects of misogyny rather than benefiting from patriarchy. Also being trans, we understand otherwise being marginalized so it’s a different perspective on life. Cis hetero white guys are used to being in power and benefitting from patriarchy. Just my thoughts.Edit: at the end of the day we just need to hold men accountable rather than just saying they are inherently evil or bad because of hormones or anything else.
