       @wolf480pl @andrewrk I think you have to stop paying attention to new things to feel this way. I grew up with hands up like this and nightcore etc and there's a whole bunch of people that carry on that torch in various ways. After dormancy (for a time being felt as overplayed, cringe, and outdated) it's evolved and integrating into other genres, and none of that is even nostalgiabait slop, it's genuinely novel https://youtu.be/uihJAIRCYcs

       @wolf480pl @andrewrk TLDW the concrete descendants are PC music, danny harle / harlecore, ninajirachi, hypertrance, sextrance, happy hardcore refuses to die too, rage, jane remover. If you think we've peaked you just weren't locked in on soundcloud IMO. A couple years ago I would have said, you're not looking at the underground stuff, but there's been so many breakout hits it would be offensive to call it underground

       @wolf480pl @andrewrk I guess the question is "isn't this new different stuff worse" and I think it's a lot more high effort than 2010 hands-up while either is rly fun and valid to like, but it's not techno and shouldn't be compared to today's techno
