       bringing an empty bottle and filling it there doesn't meet our needs in the same way, the stadium's water tastes really bad and there's this paradox where the closer you are to sunstroke, the more nausea makes it difficult to drink anything.plus, filling it requires navigating the crowd to and from the fountain and standing upright while doing it, and those are hard for when we're already dehydrated and dealing with muscle fatigue.

       buying stuff there also doesn't help because the correct amount of water for us to drink during a 90-minute game and 15-minute intermission is something like 2 liters and the cups are tiny

       you know what it is, really? it's not that the water would usually make the difference; it's that it's an extra fuck-you that anything that would help us is disallowed.

       @ireneista I think here you’re allowed to bring outside food and drink into the skydome for Jays games, because there’s so many hot dog carts around there, and it makes me sad this isn’t the case for every event everywhere :c

       @demize that does sound nice.it also sounds like a decision reached on financial grounds, two different groups of vendors using market forces in opposite ways and reaching that compromise. it's one of those things where they reach a good answer through a bad process, so it's kind of as-expected that the process doesn't usually have that outcome :/

       @ireneista the “street meat” is part of toronto culture, really, so it makes sense they’d end up at this outcome here…though how hot dog carts that all sell the same hot dogs (from one of two distributors) became part of our culture is beyond me

       @ireneista oh I think this is something differentthe street vendors here are independent and all over the place downtown, and I think the two distributors they get their hot dogs from are independent too (one of them is a little shop near me I can walk into and buy frozen hot dogs from!) so it’s less conspiratorial and more accidental duopoly (not that the vendors couldn’t get hot dogs from sysco or, like, costco, but the hot dogs the people want are from Champs and Soloways)
