       Dammit, I'm going to have to mess with keyboard input settings again aren't I? I've got Japanese input pretty well sorted, but that kind of sucked and I need to keep 2 different keyboard layouts in my head.

       @frog IMEs and their consequences.It is still a mystery to me when anthy will use qwerty as base and my chosen layout as base.Right now I think it is consistently picking colemak, because that's what's in my hyprland config, and ignoring what was last selected in fcitx.

       @frog [*I use direct hira input anyway, so it's more of a nuisance, the original layout was kinda schizophrenic, one day I will sort it out and prepare tables for each layout I care about]

       @Zergling_man I've got a Japanese keyboard (' on the 7 and @ right of p) and that's annoying enough. I'll need to fix input settings and keyboard layouts on a regular basis. Super annoying. I don't use direct input because it doesn't seem much faster than what I know and I think my brain only has room for like 4 keyboard/input layouts.

       @frog Nips don't even use direct hira input lol, I just taught myself to for fun.>(' on the 7 and @ right of p)Are you using anthy? I think you can rebind stuff on romaji mode too, you can make @ be shift+2 like normal. (Though IIRC I have previously rebound @ to ◯ because switching bothers me less than finding somewhere else to put that. Currently I summon it from まる, I need to fix a bunch of binds on this one like !? etc..)

       @Zergling_man I don't even know anymore.  I'd have to reboot to check. On linux, there seem to be lots of moving parts and I am not a clever man. I really only use Japanese input for rare dictionary lookups. I have the most useless Japanese knowledge anyway. I can muddle through some NHK easy news articles and that's about it.
