@jasonshaw @Dr_jasonvon, thanks for the follow requests! You two seem to be the same person (judging by your first name and profile photo), so I'll only ask one #CAPTCHAlice question. What was the last thing you cooked for someone else, and how did it turn out?I made apple turnovers last weekend for my two partners. They were scrumptious, but ugly 😋

@alice I made a chili for my girlfriend (and myself). it turned out decently, but something was missing, and I said as much. she has more experience cooking, tastes once, asks "do you have cumin?". I add cumin and suddenly it tastes really great.

@lea @alice ah, cumin=Kreuzkümmel… don’t put too much of it, or you’ll put off some people (unsure if it’s nature like with cilantro or nurture, over here™ we use caraway=(Echter )Kümmel instead)

@mirabilos @alice I have eaten Kümmel (particularly in bread) and imo it tastes very different from cumin/Kreuzkümmel. I always found it weird that the names are so similar in german. I wouldn't put Kümmel on a chili, but thanks for the heads-up about cumin too

@alice @lea yes, they are very different, and if something contains more than traces of cumin it tastes off to me (sadly applies to many Hummus dishes, too)
