Transfems, you need to understand that even if your doctor is lovely and supportive, they are almost certainly following WPATH guidelines for HRT. WPATH guidelines are so bad they should be considered transphobic. They give you tiny amounts of estrogen, discredited t-blockers, and a low dose of prog IF you're lucky.I'm not saying that you have to DIY. But you should at least be an informed patient. Know what to ask for. Get a copy of all your blood tests.1/?

I keep having transfems in my spaces talking about how HRT hasn't done anything for them, and then I ask them about their levels and their treatment and it's abysmally low. A lot of them even still had androgen-dominant endocrine systems!Don't trust the authorities, they don't care about trans people. Don't trust your doctor, they just follow the guides they are given. If you want results, you need to take action yourself.2/2

@Misofist@girlcock.club (🤍 nova) curious: I recall one of us reading a blogpost from a transfem who had a rough experience on prog (which was a long while back, so I can't summon the link), so she(?) decided to get off it and only take E and T-blockersif prog causes such an experience, is it really that important?(note: if we get on HRT, it would only be on microdosing E, so IDK how relevant this question would be for us)

@aperture @Chishiki611 Yeah this too! You can start prog late and it'll still work. And whether you want to take it at all is also up to your own transition goals. If you want to have the biggest breasts possible, prog is important. If you want to have boobs that look & feel just like a cis woman's, prog is important. But you can still get boobs without prog. And if you don't want boobs at all, then you probably shouldn't have prog.

@aperture @Chishiki611 Oh, one other thing, prog is also important if you want to lactate. In cis women progesterone is also important for uterine health, but fortunately we don't have that risk.
