       @mhkohne I have to be able to take it off every couple years when work makes me test something that talks to it, I just want to be very very sure it's not phoning home in the meantime

       @azonenberg @mhkohne part of me wants to say "throw it in a locked safe" and the other half wants me to tell you to rip it open and solder blob the terminals together on the barrel jack on the PCB.

       @azonenberg @mhkohne my thought was mostly focused on "prevent accidental power on", making it blow a fuse if you just connect any random wall wart to it, or physically making it impossible to get your hands on it.

       @xabean @mhkohne yep lol.I mean they're not mandating i have it on all the time, it's just that every so often I need to test something that interoperates with it so there's not really any way to do the job without having one

       @xabean @mhkohne It's not really any worse than having a customer on speakerphone for a call, whenever it's plugged (and for a short time afterwards while capacitors drain) in you assume anything you say is being recorded.

       @AMS that would fit the power brick but not the entire dot unless it was a really big one for like an iec 60309 plug.I should measure and see how big the dot is compared to a 60309 lol
