       @brettm @AVincentInSpace sounds like upload isn't automatic (makes sense when no WiFi), and optimistically it may present as mass storage making cloud (and whatever software they have) optional for accessing recordings, but yeah, not exactly ‘no cloud’?

       @brettm @AVincentInSpace oh it actually says in the FAQs, so the device itself is just a little MP3 recorder, dumping to an SD card, and presents as a mass storage device over USB-C.So all together a kinda cute device in a way, and for a low production run item $20 really isn't outrageous, just with very confusing marketing attached because they want to encourage engagement with StoryCorp.Like, maybe kinda not evil even? In 2026? Is that legal?
