       @azonenberg @petrillic I drift towards Metcal or Pace because it's easier to get parts, but the point stands. I'd still consider JBC or Hakko "really good".

       @philpem @petrillic Yeah but WRT Hakko, I'm specifically talking about the FX-100 more so than the FX-888.The 888 is a solid entry level iron, but for serious professional use I'm always going to recommend the 100. It's a 13.56 MHz induction iron like Metcal, with a good collection of accessories. I have two and we also have one at work.

       @petrillic @philpem Yeah and the 888 is far more affordable.But once you've used the good stuff you're so spoiled lol. I always caution friends who visit my lab that they're probably going to leave with a Christmas list worth several months salary and won't want to go back to their home/work lab.
