       thinking about the category of things where there's a proper way to refer to them, but people instead often use a related person's name as the entire name of the thing- frankenstein- falstad- godboltto be fair godbolt is a much cooler sounding name than compiler explorer

       seems to happen all the time for books and sufficiently book-like things?- academics refer to studies by just their author names all the time- "reading Tolkien", with "...'s works" implied- "I read that in Strunk and White", presumably while on a Magic School Bus expedition through those authors' internal organs
