       Do you read books by women and from the perspective of women? I’ve always thought that himpathy (a disproportionate level of empathy for men) was due to men simply not being able to imagine themselves as women, while women have been trained their entire lives to put themselves in men’s shoes. I do read books with women as protagonists, like the Avalon series, or Gone with the Wind… haven’t really thought about this, I’m sufficiently immersed to not think about that.What I cannot stand is things like fanfics with a female Harry Potter or whom-have-you. Doesn’t match the mental image, and then I cannot do the perspective switch.
