       @azonenberg The smoke alarms in my flat (have to be provided and maintained by the landlord in germany) do some 868MHz protocol for reporting status and self test results so the landlord can skip the manual yearly check. Always wanted to see if I can sniff that..

       @azonenberg I test all the smoke alarms at the start of each month, reaching and pressing the button on each using a sabre I received as a gift. This allows me to justify keeping an otherwise fairly pointless gift.I suppose they're all connected together and ring all at once, so I could press just one and check that they all ring. But this ritual has been in place for years now.
