       @nadia For this random fan I found that claims 142m³/min you'd need 45½ 120mm 3000rpm industrial Noctuas (186.7m³/hour). Almost a nice 7×7 grid!The ceiling fan in our lounge room doesn't seem to turn as fast as it used to though, you could probably beat that one with like four.

       @nadia idk about pc fans, but a massive inline duct fan on 10% power is working really well for me (silent besides airflow, at least until I accidentally unplug the controller and it defaults to jet engine mode)

       @ErinRose Hmm, that would surely work, but it will not be pretty… I'm trying to figure out how I could force some airflow on a very high ceiling where mounting a ceiling fan is not really an option, but it would be highly visible :blobcatThinking:

       @nadia a small “bladeless” fan facing upwards? they perform pretty similarly to (quiet / low speed) ducted fans in a given opening diameter (because they functionally are just nice looking ducted fans..)

       @shironeko @ErinRose I found one of those Vornado thingies pretty cheap in Bezos Preowned, will give them a try.Good thing is that it may be simple to slap a connected light dimmer to them so I can link the fan speed to the temperature gradient I want to minimize :blobcatOwoEyes:
