       Okay. Humbly asking for some #Linux help here. When I installed Ubuntu on my machine a year ago, I did not know beans about Linux. Since then I've learned a bit, and when installing on other machines I have tried to make a partition so that I can change distros without losing files. But I don't remember doing anything like that on my main machine, where ALL my files are. Is there some way I can check to see if my drive is partitioned, and if not how can I change distros without losing data?

       @RachelThornSub run "df -h"You should be able to se what partitions you have, how big they are and where they are located

       @RachelThornSub Great!Looks like you have all of your files and Operating System files in the same partition (no separate /home partition).So if you reinstall your machine without taking a backup, you probably would have lost all of your files.Do you have backups of your files? Or have the possibility to take backups?

       @selea Thank you! Actually, almost all of my files on either on Dropbox or Nextcloud. So I suppose as long as I don't accidentally delete anyhing from those servers, I should be safe?
