       In Nov 2024 a popular cafe in town closed due to increasing financial pressures, culminating in "a significant rent hike". The space they were in has remained empty to this day. I hope the greedy landlord is happy with their actions. It brings me a bit of dark satisfaction to know they have received zero rent in that time.

       @fiore @wezm because capitalism and private property.I don't know how stuff is regulated in Australia but here in Germany turning commercial space into living space is a long and complicated process so is the other way around and both could be impossible depending on zoning laws.Anyways NP: Dead Kennedys - "Let's lynch the landlord"
