       Yes, I'm soft on crime. Because I love crime. Can't get enough of those crimes. Just love to be mugged or find out my poor mother had her purse snatched. It's delightful.

       There is a segment of the US public who thinks that the left and democrats (who are groups that overlap but not even the same people) really are like this. Just pure villains who want bad things for everyone.  Thinking about this for more than a second makes it not make sense. And as long as you see those with different policy ideas as evil you don't need to discuss the policy. You don't need to talk about "Well will this war do what you claim?"
