Since we live in an area with a lot of elderly people maybe I should start a tech help service š¤"Nerd At Home" or something, like the student one but better and cheaper!Question however.. how do we reach such people, paper perhaps?

@stux Road signs + Direct marketing (because outside visibility = reliability - you're investing in being publicly 'accountable'), and don't be the cheapest option. Be affordable + good.

@stux Visit in person. Once 1-2 people know your service, word spreads fast. But be aware: while a great service, the effort to money payment ratio in this business is low. However the effort / good memories ratio is very high.

@stux @McHollander Seniors come in all kinds (when it comes to money). I didnāt set out to make money when I started volunteering with seniors, but some feel better paying me, so I donāt say no.

@stux i connected with a local nonprofit (called vicap). their primary mission was providing transportation for the elderly, but they also offered handyman services & technology assistance.met some very cool people, including a very butch, retired army staff seargent and her wife. she served during the don't-ask-don't-tell era and they had to navigate all of that as a couple. they were one of the first to get married when it became legal to do so.she called vicap because she needed help putting up xmas lights.

@stux When I did this, I advertised in the local phone book, as a lot of elderly people go there first still. I also offered group workshops at a local community centre for online safety. Assisted living homes are also a good place to drop off cards

@stux I don't know about where you live but in a few neighborhoods here there are quite a few "adult day cares" that senior citizens go to for socializing and spending the day.

@stux @jjmcgaffey does that and it seems to be 90% word of mouth which starts from being in group activities with your target audience (church, gardening, orgs like AAUW, etc.)Also in general your audience is going to be women as men (in general) don't get *less* stubborn with age.
