I don't see writers in mass, defending the sustained attack on the creativity and craftsmanship in their profession by LLMs. However, some coders will line up to do this.

@TheOneDoc This is another peculiarity. MJG59 isn;t pro AI per se. BUT hates the code is art, angle of defense.ANOTHER thing you don't see writers in mass do; is referee on what is art or not. Even though some are much more technical and utilitarian in their craft than others.

@TheOneDoc I've followed his career and FLOSS output for a long time; and I suspect he isn't the usual shill for AI at NVidia but such evaluations are inherently subjective.

@trashheap oh I know Matthew since his early Debian days don't get me wrong on that. (Yes I voted against him in 2002)In an other post I very much agreed with him on his perspective on code when it comes to his own code.Thank the gods most of us aren't mjg59 - self quote
