@brettm last two we've had were the same as far as I know. We usually get them in December before Christmas in the northern hemisphere with family. So it's been ~6 mos now since our last.

imo it should be like flu shot, southern hemisphere should not get the leftover from nthn hemisphere but a committee should pick a newer strain to base booster off. and unlike the usa committee that currently decides, they should pick variant that's heading for takeover, not one that's already on the way out. fairly useless otherwise, despite what propaganda in 'the conversation' et al says. the real covid i got 18 months ago is more up-to-date than these boosters 😕

@brettm I don't think we ever had a LP.8.1 wave here and we also got these boosters like six months after the US. When I got my last shot in Dec the pharmacist was confused when I asked if they had the "new" shots (they didn't lol)Anyways, there are several variants currently in circulation which is a mess: https://aus.social/@mike_honey_/116351031595520961

@brettm also we seem to have some kind of exclusive contract with pfizer as that's the only thing being used for the past year
