       So tired of anti-porn people spreading misinformation. Porn as a whole does NOT increase the violence of men... misogynistic porn created by misogynists does because it validates their already skewed idea of consent and desire.The patriarchy and misogyny is EVERYWHERE, including the porn industry.Sad that a bitch with Autism and BPD (who struggles with seeing in black or white only) is able to see the gray area better than a neurotypical.

       @trinityblair the notion that addiction comes in a vacuum is so widespread. it's not just that you come across something, and solely because of being exposed to that, you become addictedit's a much more complex issue, one could get addicted because of things in life not going well, and using the thing they are addicted to to get relief without actually addressing the underlying issuesbut sadly, corporate social media tends to encourage these surface-level understandings. things usually are not as simple as they seem

       @trinityblair it baffles me that people can see "there's a correlation between abusive, violent men and Problematic porn consumption" and conclude "porn corrupts men into sexual violence," rather than the far simpler conclusion that men prone to sexual violence tend to seek out pornographic material that confirms their worldview

       @ginny @trinityblair it only matters when it happens to men, because it gives men a Get-Out-Of-Agency-Free card. if men are being corrupted into sexual violence by Evil Pornography, then that gives us cause to go after the Evil Pornographers (who are, more often than not, women and fems living on the margins) instead of addressing the structural issues that cause rape culture; namely, male supremacy and masculinity. in essence, it's yet more of the whole "blaming women and fems for our own oppression" thing.

       @ginny @trinityblair and while this paradigm allows men to get away with being innocent victims of Big Pornography, women and fems consuming pornography are seen as contributing to the issue through objectifying each other. and the victim-blaming intensifies further.

       @ginny @trinityblair literally, I've occasionally seen the argument make the rounds that trans women who consume porn featuring other trans women are perpetuating transfeminine hypersexualization - and I just cannot even begin to describe how incredibly backwards that assumption is
