       So there's KeepassXC, keepass2Android, keepass, and keepassdx, and probdbly others. I can't find reliable source of meaningful comparison data. Any suggestions? Looks like keepass XC is "best"? I have no need for more than basics including attached files.

       @tomjennings using #keepass2android for a long time because of the embedded cloud sync option. But that can be also handled in other ways. On Linux #KeepassXC. For me a perfect combination also covering the basic needs you mentioned.As keepass2android is only on google play, i also thought about switching to #keepassDX from the @IzzyOnDroid repository. Comparisons I know are main feom the german @heiseonline or @heisec magazine

       @geotux That is the combination I use, and am happy with. I use no "cloud sync", though, but rather sync locally (via ADB (using my own https://codeberg.org/izzy/adbsync there, but alternatives to that do exist of course) @tomjennings @heiseonline@social.heise.de @heisec

       I've been running about the same: XC on the desktop -- comes with debian distro I guess -- keepass2android and also KPass on the phone. There doesn't seem to be much difference between them I can discern. Have been looking at adjusting my practices and, sadly, browser, maybe vivaldi, and handling passwords differently. I guess I'm mostly looking for outliers -- good or bad ("DONT USE KPASSLEAK") etc. There's yet another "keypass" on f-droid, but otherwise, it's all google play.Things are not good.

       Oh right i forgot -- different collections of "keepass*" fdroid vs goog play. Aargh
