       It's wild to me that apparently Xorg has literally 4 FUCKING YEARS worth of patches in the master branch, literally thousands, that just never got merged into stable because "X is dead" became a dogmatic statement, to the detriment of anyone who prefers Xfce or whatever. And no, this doesn't mean I think XLibre is a good project or whatever. I think it's dogshit. The main reason XLibre is maddening to me is because Enrico Weitgeit is an insane, toxic crank of a man. But he's also literally the only person to have even bothered doing anything with X for years. He did deserve his ban from FDo. He does suck. His project sucks. It's just ludicrous that it was even necessary.        @daemonspudguy I remember @libreleah working on a fork of XLibre during the first few weeks of the project: mostly to clean up the description or something.Never used any strain of XLibre because the X11 versions of KDE and XFCE work well enough on the current Xorg (KDE for Wayland runs kinda poorly on my intel HD 4000 and UHD 620 laptops).

       @moses_izumi i'm not working on an x11 fork, xlibre or otherwise. why would i waste time on such a stupid endeavour? wayland is superior in every way.

       @moses_izumi@fe.disroot.org @libreleah@mas.toWayland is superior in every way as long as you don't use Xfce, or software that uses window positioning, or don't rely on a graphics card that can't handle always being in compositing mode, or don't need to disable modesetting for whatever reason (such as Nvidia deciding to ship broken drivers for over 6 months), or don't want/need screensavers, or don't need xdotool, or don't need screenshots to work reliably, I could keep going but I'm not going to.

       @daemonspudguy @moses_izumi yes, granted, there are some legacy applications and uses, and if you're still happy with x, fine, use it. i was simply addressing that person's false assertion that i work on xorg/xlibre; i don't work on these projects at all. there is also wayback, which should satisfy a lot of x11 people.https://wayback.freedesktop.org/i said before and i say it again: forking xorg is good. however, xlibre is a bunch of nazis. i can't in good conscience endorse it, let alone work on it.
