       google has decided that the gmail.com account I have had for two decades does not exist.I'm logged into it. I can send mail.Sending mail to that account results in "This account does not exist."Just me, or are others seeing weirdness?(ETA: it's just me, sigh. Bloody Google.        @mwl  They're walling the garden. The wheels have been in motion for a long time (at least a couple of years). Are you sending to it from within Gmail or without?They have been making it harder and harder to send in from outside. The justification is to make email "more secure", but seen through the lens Google/Alphabet's previous shennanigans of trying to become the identity/knowledge core of the "free" Internet it is very obviously another attempt in that direction.

       @mwl  But is it? Is that their "nope, we're not going to receive that, and we're not going to admit to that user existing" response. I wouldn't put it past them.Of course, the more charitable interpretation is that "somebody done fucked up the config".It just remains to be seen whether it is transient or not.

       @mwl In case you need another data point or three (and so I can take the opportunity to flex), test messages from each of the following sources were successfully delivered to my GMail account old enough that can legally drink in any US state.- Yahoo! (address from the 1990s)- Microsoft 265 (enterprise-y association)- Multiple email domains on my own mail server (~5 yrs at this IP address)
