       @twitnews Regarding "UK Man Accuses Spouse of Stealing $172 Million Bitcoin Password via CCTV Camera "There is possibly an interesting twist to this story:Depending on jurisdiction, there are various ways that spouses control their property.For example, "community property" (such as in much of the western US) and "joint tenancy" give each spouse essentially full control (and access to) the property.  Even older common law forms (such as tenancy in common) provide essentially equal, permission-less rights of access and use to marital property.Now, the bitcoin password in this case, and the coins themselves, are likely to have been (often automatically) under one of these spousal forms of property ownership and control.Thus it can be argued that one spouse looking at a bitcoin password is not any form of theft or unlawful taking at all - because the thing being viewed is *already* properly within the rights of the spouse viewing the passwords via CCTV.
