       @civodul Oh waf is from samba, I've blocked some software from them because their buildsystem was horribly broken, explains so much :D

       @civodul ran into weirdness in nixpkgs with this too. Strange decision. But the linked page does mention cross-answers which could be useful for some things, I'm assuming.
