       Tucker Carlson vastly overestimates Trump's grasp of military matters. Trump says he can win in Iran because that's what he says about every failed project he embarks upon, not because he's willing to nuke Iran.

       @judgedread I'm sure that Trump seriously believes the BS about the US being the biggesest and baddesest military in the world, and not just the most expensive.Its the product of a corrupt procurement process, and politicized leadership.  It has TOE and doctrine from the 90s, and has learned mostly nothing from the last four years in Ukraine.I doubt he'll learn from the consequences of the delusion.  He seems better at blame shifting.

       @Obfuskation The point is Trump has no clue about the escalation ladder. He wants this wrapped up and, like the 12 Day War, he is willing to wrap it up without actual victory.

The US loses inherently because it no longer offers the Ayrabs anything other than cash in exchange for hosting US bases and following israel-first policy. He was talking about how to pressure Iran using Kharg in I think 1990.The key I think is that we know there is a super-pro-israeli "flatten iran" group that is basically lead by graham, and then there is the military who has already stabbed him in the back.He's already shown he is willing to just drop things; the pro-israeli people of course want to get us embroiled enough that we can't stop without getting what they want.The question that we don't know is: if Trump was talking about this in 1990 - what does *Trump* want out of this? Because I take what he said then as him having ideas of what he wanted which wasn't "I will do what jews want"

The problem is that people who want to believe he is just a puppet simply want to believe that and make it unfalsifiable.Does Israel have a lot of power in the US, to get what it wants? Absolutely.Are there people who will do absolutely whatever Israel wants? Quite possibly.Do I think Israel believes those people are unfailing loyal? No.
