       Doing laundry earlier and was reminded of the time that I was looking at my parents washer as a kid and saw the "intimates" setting.Being ten or so I had never heard the word before so I read it as "inmates".And got very confused as to why a home washer would have a special setting for laundering prison uniforms

       @azonenberg Wait what? These is an "intimates" setting on American washing machines?!? Here it used to be called "Feinwäsche" ("delicate laundry"), on newer machines "Dessous".

       @hennichodernich it varies by brand and model others say "delicates" or similar
