       I'm not allowed to get laser hair removal unless I either go off venlafaxine (antidepressant) for three days before the treatment or provide a doctor's note that I can get it despite the medicationI want to DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIEI hate this stupid retarded meat prison, I want to stuff it in a meat grinder and run it over with a freight train and then put it in a garbage incinerator where it belongs earlier I saw a bunch of cops at the transit interchange, but by the time I got back from the laser hair place they were gone. I was planning on either directly asking a cop to shoot me, or grab their gun and do it myselfI also considered attempting train suicide again (train station within walking distance) but mom talked me out of it

       @LunaDragofelis@void.lgbt What the?  I got laser hair removal on both my face and my genitals while taking antidepressants uninterrupted.  Have you tried asking another laser hair removal practice?

       @2something @LunaDragofelis yeah, and also one can just answer "no" (lie) to the question "are you taking any medications currently?"Granted this wouldn't work at a place aware of medications already, but even there the claim "sure thing, I went off my medications three days ago, just as you recommended" should also work.Reading about venlafaxine, I don't at a glance see any reasons why it would interfere with laser hair removal, even in theory. And you're absolutely allowed to lie to the gatekeepers, it's ethical and good actually.

       @LunaDragofelis @2something I also know one okayish practice in Nürnberg (and it's at a clinic so in theory should be covered / reimbursable by health insurance; idk I always paid out of pocket), but it's _really_ expensive (was 120€/visit in 2020), and also very not central. But surely there should be plenty of places in München.

       @LunaDragofelis @IngaLovinde @2something what are they going to do if you tell them you've been off of it for 3 days before the appointment? try to run a blood test right there? :zerotwo_shrug: sometimes, we have to lie to get proper treatment, and lying to get access to hrt will always be ethical :hug_love:

All the antidepressants I'm familiar with are still present for weeks in your bloodstream after you stop (but I don't know the specific one Luna is taking.)
