@fitheach I'm not as confident as you. I read a statistic the other day, it was that 1 in 25 people infected by covid-19 have had 2 vaccinations.

@fitheach If you're still looking and distance is not an issue I've heard that this place is worth a look. https://www.caninerescue.co.uk/

@fitheach I found one between my toes, when I went to get it off it fell out dead. What does that say about my feet?

@Jkp It's not just the highlands. I've seen them left hanging from trees in the Pentland hills. The worst was left under a sign saying "clean up after your dog". It makes me mad.@fitheach

@jk I've deliberately never installed satellite or cable TV. I used to watch too much TV and the thought of having more choice was scary. I would never have left the house. As to the adverts, I like how some shows are sponsored. It gives me time to turn the sound off at the ads and back on when the show is back on.

@fitheach There are a few eastern European dog rescues here. Our dogs best friend is Romanian and he gets on well with a Macedonian too.

@fitheach I wouldn't take her out of the country, a European passport is no guarantee for getting back into the UK.

@fitheach I was just thinking about the problem Europeans with settled status have been having.

@fitheach @jamie Our last dog was adopted, my sons friend wasn't able to look after her so we took her on.She was an 11 year old staffie / collie cross who became part of the family in next to no time at all. Sadly she got a liver infection and didn't recover just over a year later. We tried for another rescue dog but couldn't find what we were looking for and ended up getting a cairn terrier puppy. He was easy to house train but my wife and I are both retired.

@fitheach Our last dog didn't like most other dogs and her hackles were regularly raised but she never barked.

Typical, I went out on a walk without my camera and as usual something comes up that would have been good to photograph. Today there was a kingfisher on the Water of Leith, we watched it for a while and even saw it dive into the water and catch a fish.I only had my phone so the image is a bit blurred.

@athairbirb I've got a Toyota hybrid it doesn't go that fast or make that noise. What I can do with it is sleep in its bed, cook on its cooker and keep beer cold in its fridge.

@fitheach @withaveeay My Coolpix P900 has trouble focussing when trying to photograph birds in trees if there is the thinnest of twigs near the front of the subject and manual focus takes too long for most wildlife photography. Other than that, I like it.

@fitheachI have a steady hand, One of my favourite pictures was of the waterfall in Smoo Cave in the 1980s, a 4 second exposure holding the camera balanced on a fence.@withaveeay

@fitheach This is a scan of the photograph I took in Smoo Cave, I think it was in 1989. It was so dark I could barely see where the light was coming in. The camera, a Pentax, suggested a setting of maximum aperture and a shutter speed of 4 seconds. I held the camera at an angle using a fence for support. I didn't have much film to use so I only took 1 shot.
