@OpenComputeDesign its not so much that they cant its more that most games take many years to build so often the tools are build for next gen hardware of 4 to 5 years ago.

@_emacsomancer @brainblasted @emsenn I have heard the term used as a slur in the UK but come on people its just an acronym Im sure you can find more of them arround somewhere. So many languages something will always be offensive somewhere.

@_emacsomancer @brainblasted oh I never stated that the fact that organisations wont adopt it based on its name is not something that ought to be considered. However I personally can live with a couple of individuals that are butt hurt. In the end whether GIMP does or doesnt change their name means little to me. If its a wider problem fine. If its just one dude crying about his fifis and everyone bending over backwards because of that I find it stupid.

@brainblasted well I am basing it on the facts I have read on here which are as follows. GIMP is thinking about looking to cahnge its name. GIMP is looking to change its name because someone found it offensive. Its not about the individual words. Based on this I assume its to do with the word gimp. Fair I know that slur from en_UK. Again if it truelly harms the product in an impactful way and that the reason for change fine. If its just another "Im offended" then fuck that.

@matt I love the convience of cashless and stuff. As a younger person in a country that has been great at adopting this stuff I grew up finding this normal. I have however been seeing the potential dangers in it.

@matt yeah I totally agree. I love tech and the convienences it brings. Hell Im a programming because I like knowong that I make peoples lives better or easier. But I dont like trading in freedoms for comfort or conveince. Its to high a price. Life shouldnt just be easy. Life is a struggle and through that struggle we grow.

@DashEquals @Gauge yeah thats the point I got to. Wasnt critizing him I was talking about the screenshot. I dont mind who uses it. The platform is there. My whole problem is with these people banning others because they dont agree with them. Basically "we should include everyone, because inclusivity is great, but you know only those who fit in our echo chamber ofcourse otherwise my fifies are at risk of getting hurt"

@matt how do I become a citizen again? Srsly my country is so fucked. Pepper spray is illegal, guns are super dificult to have even for sport, you are just about allowed to carry a pocket knife if unfolded not more then 30cm. So thats my EDC but legit the only self defence option you have. I would love to own a gun though.

@matt well I wouldnt as the US would make me denounce my loyalty for my home country which is a bit much. Swearing loyalty to the us for sure but you cant expect me to stop caring about the country of my fore fathers and family. I know right its really rediculous but only police are allowed to carry it. You are allowed "identification spray" which just paints someone. Which is rediculous. Sure the suspect will get caught which im sure is a great comfort to the murder/rape victim.

@architect if Android is what you are talking about. Depending on the version this is possible. Under sound there is Do Not Disturb. There when you click on it you should get a new screen that allows you to allow media and alarms. then you can turn it on till you turn it off aswell. I have had DND on all the time for the past couple years as notification sounds and vibration annoy the fuck out of me

@matt Only use mac for work. There I dont care about this stuff. I only use my work laptop for work and my boss pays for it
