@Che5hire @lynnesbian I went to a bar with gendered bathrooms where the men’s bathroom just had a trough with no actual toilet, because apparently men do not ever need to poop

@Mosie I went for New Years and they had the usual one and her newborn! @Pixley the other animal you walk through is a red panda which is the cutest thing in existence. I agree that spending one whole day was doable for me (able-bodied childless 24 year old) and that was enough, though if you want a more chill time just get the two-day pass. Whew, that was a long one, sorry.

@jacethechicken it's worth noting that some are only very begrudgingly descriptivist because there's no other way to approach a dictionary. the Real Academia Española would have everyone talking in the spanish of cervantes if they could

@kragen I haven’t done any studies but in usage I’ve heard, the difference is in the perceived value of the product. “Waste” is used when the perceived value is negative and “side products” and “byproducts” are used when the perceived value is neutral or positive.

@gazelle yeah, my bf insisted I’d change my mind if I tried memory foam pillows. I didn’t. I feel like I sleep a lot better without one tbh

I lived in Korea and never once heard about the Korean People’s Association in Manchuria, an autonomous anarchist zone of 2 million people that only disintegrated because they were consistently attacked by China from the North and Japan from the South. This was in 1929. Moneyless, classless, stateless, gift economy based on mutual aid. It was all there. Further reading at Wikipedia (and their sources!): https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_People%27s_Association_in_Manchuria

@alana FOSS nerds prefer things that are hard to use out of some sense of superiority they feel when they finally figure it out and in the same breath bemoan that no one uses FOSS and everyone prefers the closed source privately funded alternative that hired one UI/UX person and a graphic designer.

the internet peaked in 2008 with the bodybuilding.com thread in which there was a heated 5 page debate regarding how many days are in one week
