Do other countries have the equivalent of Political Action Committees (PACs)? I get dozens of emails from groups like "Medicare for All" who ostensibly lobby on behalf of universal healthcare for Americans but wind up just being fundraising front groups for left-of-center candidates.Then try to guilt trip me into signing a petition which will not further the cause but probably add me to even more unwanted email lists.Rule 1 about me: I respond with violence to guilt trips.

@gme In the early aughts, long after I'd violently thrown my television into the dumpster, a co-worker made this "we're number one!" gesture at me.I waved. He rolled his window down and explained that it meant that I had left something on the roof of my car (which I had! thanks buddy!). Apparently, there was some famous commercial where the sports hero confused the gesture for success when in fact he'd left something on his car's roof. If I had watched TV, I would have known that.

@gme to be clear (since I ran out of characters) I wasn't upset at all. I was delighted to be ignorant of a commercial and a sports hero's cash grab. The interaction with my co-worker was much more rewarding than if I'd been some TV automaton.
