@nergal if you heard of peer tube you can watch videos on peer tube on mastodon if you post the link or search for it i wanted to know if you could do the same thing with lbry turns out you can't witch makes sense as lbry.com is not based on activitypub

@nergal I assumed that sense it's not built to work with activity pub services then it wouldn't have that feature witch might not be true i have no way to tell as for size limits I have seen longer videos posted on mastodon before and i could watch them as for life spans I'm not sure how that applies here

@malin I would recommend session, but just to be clear it is by nature built on top of oxen (cryptocurrency) and I want to make that clear upfront so it doesn't come as a surprise. Other than that it's onion routed with no central servers so oxen foundation in theory has nothing to turn over, and all it's primary features are free.

I think the main reason I like terminals is because they're dark theme by default. If you want me to experience physical pain, send me a picture of a white background terminal. And now I remembered the terminal webbrowser for Gemini which did exactly this when you opened it. *Shudders*

@anjune I hate reading static content, turning my phone off and back on, and losing the content because I'm no longer connected to the Internet.I hate That the answer to the question "why can't I use program x on device y" is more often than not "because x thought it would be more profitable".I hate that software and services are deliberately made worse in an attempt to make more money.I hate being called childish because I believe people starving to death is a solvable problem.I hate listening to people talk about how much they hate me and my people as if the feeling isn't mutual. This is fun thank you.

@OpenComputeDesign I once ripped open a Kindle to get to the "hard drive". Associated link files with a program on windows forcing to reset it to fix it.Broke Linux installs more times then I can count.People break things all the time, especially when it's new to them. It definitely doesn't make you stupid. It sounds so petty, but remembering that people have likely done worse helps to shut down the self deprecating for me.

@OpenComputeDesign Yeah I get that, When your actions have real world consequences it's hard to forgive yourself. I have personally developed the bad habit of not trying things with real world consequences because of that, digital stuff is nice as iyou can usually just reinstall and get back a functioning machine. But yeah, don't be like me try again if you have the chance and still want to do it.

@OpenComputeDesign @swordplay I can definitely understand the struggle of when your body doesn't want to listen to your head.It helps me to remind myself That I am deserving of the time I take to preserve my mental healthTaking a break from helping people when it harms you isn't a character flaw.

@OpenComputeDesign I think this is a side effect of a lot of active thinking. (Self reflection)It is a useful skill to have, but do it to much you'll start judging yourself for totally reasonable actions.Heck I sometimes question if I am really human.Even if I can rationalize why I am being unfair to myself it's not an easy habit to kick.(Especially since people have legit asked me if I am a real person before)

So uh... India decided to mass ban open source open source messaging apps. This includes apps I have heard of like element, and briar. One that I recommend to a teacher of mine with Indian family is safe though.https://www.theregister.com/2023/05/09/india_messaging_apps_ban/#amp_tf=From%20%251%24s&aoh=16836778557184&csi=0&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theregister.com%2F2023%2F05%2F09%2Findia_messaging_apps_ban%2F

@realcaseyrollins true, it does means less computer literate people will have to jump through more hoops though, Unfortunate. Was completely unaware that they have apparently been rate limiting those areas for while now too, hard to keep track of all the different evils commuted by the many countries of the world.

Since a lot of people still seem to be defending the death penalty; what if we started advocating that the death penalty be used for white collar crime?See how all the "criminals deserve to be punished" people react to that.

@nergal eating paper and playing little big planet. (I was five)But that looks exactly like one of the stories to make my point. That and the housing market crash.Tbc I resent white collar criminals and honestly think a lot of it is worse then even a shooting; I am just against the death penalty, and think people that defend it but wouldn't condemn white collar criminals to death, and as such are hypocrites.

@OpenComputeDesign I hope you still have a few people who believe in you. God knows I would not be functional if I didn't have the support of my family.
