@grammargirl As one who had to train other System Engineers on product, as well as your normal work-type presentations, it was beaten into me (not literally) to use silence rather than um-uh-er. To me, the silence seems more awkward than um-uh-er. LOL

@grammargirl Though I'm a lifelong Midwesterner ("you guys", possessive "your guys's", or youse), I prefer "y'all" because it makes sense to me. Alternate to indicate "everyone" = "all y'all."

@grammargirl Also have found that very few people want to pay anything like a reasonable price for anything. Like, here I have a used gadget that cost $20. It still works fine. You can't normally find it used. I want $5 for it. Nope. No takers.Found this in garage sales too except that's worse because everyone wants to bargain for stuff... Will you take a dollar? NO!

@grammargirl Lovers of classic cars will be in heaven. I was there with my sons several years ago. It's amazing how gigantic the Duesenbergs are. They must be 20 feet long. Hollywood stars loved them and had them custom-built. I want to say Clark Gable was one.The Cords and Auburns are cool too.
