Sufficiently ... annoyed... with python (no, I don't program - and that's part of the problem) that I feel that it's time (again!) to learn something completely different. Whatabout... Haskell? For the third time? Fourth time?

"No space left in ~"what? why? there should be plenty... oh, baloo. Kill that again, and delete.... let's see 5.5GB. Okay, that made size of home went from 16G to 12G (=16-5.5?). Oh well, at least I know have 350MB free.(30 minutes later)"No space left in ~"WTF? Stll 12G used, and 16 available, but that's 0 left? Okay, I can move 10G from /data. 16+10 = 24.7G, giving me 9.3G free. Alright, clean out some cruft. So, now I have 9.3GB in ~ which takes 12.68G and is 10.4G less than 24.77G.

@john @lolennui I don't know if you're familiar with how large part of the English Wikipedia was originally written by bots.I'm not kidding.

@john @lolennui there's an article about every single named place in the United States. Most of them were started by a bot: I don't know what proportion of them has ever been updated by a human.Last I really cared, less than half of them had had a human edit. (That was many years ago, though).

@hn50Maybe that should be my clue that its time for me to move on from #fedora It's not like my desktop's fedora installation boots at the moment anyway, since I attempted to system-upgrade to 38...

@hn50Given the chatter the other day about Google wanting to ban adblockers at YouTube, I can imagine them leaning onto Mozilla to make sure there's a browser capability to prevent unwanted extensions on a per site basis.

@futurebird I've never had any compunction against calling a plumber or electrician when there's water in the outlet or vice versa. My equivalent frustration is related to bicycles. I'm supposed to be able to do anything on my bikes, right? But I'm getting better.

@futurebird It really underscores to me how lucky I am to have ended up in California rather than on the east coast... (No, i cannot explain it).

@futurebird As a middle aged European-turned-Californian, whose only connection to NYC so far has been a 3 day visit in ... 2012? ... I'm not sure I'm in any way representative... But for some reason, and I had never had any reason to bother to look it up, I always assumed that they were Australian.
