None of my wives or kids thought much of anything I did, so I tell the cat, or servers in coffee shops, people standing at the train platform, random folk out for a smoke between sets... 🤣And if they ask what you're doing this for, tell them they'll understand, by and by ☺️

@stux I keep asking...What is so terrible awful about having MIDnight happen in the MIDdle of the NIGHT?Eesko all just use UTC. travellers would get a better sense of a round Earth if they knew Toronto had breakfast at noon and stayed up past 3am."What does the m in am/pm stand for, grandpa?" 🤔Better still, I advocate we switch to sidereal time. It's far more in tune with the Universe, and maybe we'd appreciate nature more! 😊

@stux y'know, the same could be said for commercial pop music, Hollywood, and all other pro-sports.Personally I would feel right taking money from a rocket scientist's hand, and putting their family out, while still retaining Justin Bieber.But that's probably just me ☺️

@john no, not really, although many did do a rush upgrade, but the CONCEPT here isn't Big Iron, the concept is many irons. Fediverse is designed to scale horizontally, diffuse and diversified 😏

@stux I do struggle with this too. I haven't really used #Twitter with any expectation of communication in months, even longer on zuckerbourg and longer still on #LinkedIn, but in all three cases I had been there since the start and left massive archives behind.I dislike how the billionaires profit of my work, but it was fair trade until they all started using our data against us. Still, the archives, I'm still upset about the library at Alexandria! I just can't torch it, not yet.

@seanDoes #pixelfed do hashtag feeds like mastodon?As a performing artist, currently most interaction we get is Ig, we're busy, but the audience uses hashtags that we then can boost (share) or pin (story) often from our phones during a break.Assuming tavern-going folk take to a federated pixelfed and have the app at the ready, would this work the same?We've been known to have the sousaphone player #livestream from his phone, too. Would that work with P2P streams?
