Another cool project that started out here on the #Fediverse is #SchoolForAfrica :sfa: Together with @JonathanMBR and @kranfahrer we started a funding project for the poorest kids in #Kenya, AfricaIn the time we've done this many kids now have a chance for a brighter future! We collect money online and go by the schools to get as many kids in for 4 years including housing and food on a daily basisIf you like checkout our site here https://schoolforafrica.orgThe Fediverse is a wonderful place

Don't get me wrong, I freaking love rockets and space but for what I've seen..We can do so much more with so little money. I'd rather do that ❤️

@stux y'know, the same could be said for commercial pop music, Hollywood, and all other pro-sports.Personally I would feel right taking money from a rocket scientist's hand, and putting their family out, while still retaining Justin Bieber.But that's probably just me ☺️

@stux > We can do so much more with so little money. I know you aren't USian - neither am I, but a space budget compared to a war budget: 18B vs 600BIf you want to take out of one budget to do good with the money, I don't think the space budget should come first on the chopping block ;-)

@stux Just to make it more relatable, I found the numbers for NL for 2022.Netherlands military spending/defense budget for 2020 was $12.58B [1], but only 99.6M€ in 2022 for ESA[2] Billions vs Millions.
