we've achieved the point in #android ecosystem where I'm scared to download anything I don't know from Play Store, but I have absolutely no problem with trying out stuff from #fdroid

Want to join a #matrix channel, but prefer to stay comfortable within your #xmpp account? Turns out matrix.org runs a XMPP gateway - so you can just join a MUC using the `#channelname#homeserver.tld@matrix.org` JID!

@yunohost is awesome. Just moved my #nextcloud instance to my own server made out of a spare #RPi, and YunoHost's panel made it all way easier than I expected it to be. Highly recommended! #selfhosting

@harce Would a task tracker (like Jira, obviously not Jira itself, as it is closed source and pretty expensive) do the job? There could be different boards for housing, reusable supplies, orders etc., each item having a known status (available, used etc.), with comments and extra tags (like who is using/transporting it etc.)I haven't researched software in that field too much, but eg. Mattermost Boards may be good enough? The interface doesn't seem too difficult.

@pfm @harce Deck in NextCloud is kinda basic, and I feel that all projects that are in any way bigger than the most basic ones would quickly outgrow it. In comparison, for example, in Mattermost's board items may have different custom fields, and the same board can be displayed differently depending on which field is used as columns.Definitely useful for projects, which can have more than one angle taken into consideration.

@pfm @harce I am not even talking about Jira, where in addition to custom fields and views one can have different workflow specified (like, a task cannot go from the "order" stage directly to "delivered", as it has to be in "transport" first), and different users can have certain permissions that only allow them for certain transitions.I hate Jira like most people, but it certainly is a powerful tool.

Made my first application for my #pinephone - a Maidenhead locator display based on current location. Everything made in #GTK4 and #Vala.Programming in Vala was a delight. The barrier to entry is practically nonexistent, and it was really pleasant to use.GTK, however, not so much. Making UIs in XML is a chore. Glade doesn't support GTK4, new designers seem not to be ready yet.I hope to slowly add some more features to it. Grab the source at https://sr.ht/~michalr/hamlocator/ if you want.

@miklo Szczerze mówiąc bardziej martwi mnie rozgraniczenie "ActivityPub" i "kompatybilne z Mastodonem".Mam dosyć mieszane uczucia.

@LukaszHorodecki Also, it was plain incorrect. At least in Poland there was WP Spik (not the most popular, but it was plain XMPP) and Tlen.pl (practically the 2nd most popular IM in Poland), which enabled s2s connections at some point. So yeah, while XMPP was not the mainstream popular choice, it did exist outside of the nerd circle. It wasn't that far away from where the fediverse is now.

@kkarpieszuk Napięcie wyjściowe musi być takie samo - 10V. Prąd co najmniej 0.5A, najlepiej więcej. Polaryzacja musi być taka sama - patrz diagram wtyczki w lewym dolnym rogu. To chyba wszystko 😉

New #radio day. Operating this one seems to be a challenge considering how many compromises there are inside, but also might be a lot of fun even if no QSOs will be done in the end. I plan to mainly operate #ft8 on it, but we'll see how it goes. #trusdx

@UT3UMS I am extremely lazy and I always get grumpy when I cannot connect to a device remotely - switching video inputs, reconnecting keyboards and whatnot is always a hassle.Have you considered using a serial console to manage it when regular networking is not available?

So Matrix is getting enshittened?#XMPP and #IRC are, and will always be, viable options, despite what some people say suspiciously loudly.
