@neil I wish it was possible to opt to only do business with non publicly traded companies... I think the enshittification process of all of these business is just driven by investors desire for year on year growth. When a company isn't traded, it doesn't seem to strive for fast growth, and is happy with just turning a profit... Then they're a lot less driven to alter things that will upset their whole customer base but make shareholders happy.

@selea My oldest set of speakers that are still going are Logitech Z-5500 and only 18 years old. Babies in comparison to yours! They were an absolute bargain costing me only £11 a year since I bought them. They don't make them like they used to 🥰

@selea @fgaz @solene @bortzmeyer It also depends on if you have things like SPF and DKIM set up correctly. And have somewhere to send DMARC reports. A lot of small servers don't bother with all that.My bigger issue is they pump people's private e-mails into their LLVM AI training data pool...

Black screen on boot issue AGAIN on @archlinux after upgrading to #Linux kernel 6.12.1.arch1-1I know Nvidia will probably get the blame again, but this is getting tiring - seems to be every new #ArchLinux major kernel release 😅

Upgrade to #mastodon v4.4.0 was a little bumpy...That's a lot of dependencies that needed updating (a few of which didn't have new enough versions in Ubuntu's repos).2.5hrs of asset pre-compilation.Some bumpy db migrations.But got there in the end 🥳

@mrcippy I'm running on a Hetzner auction server, but on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, so will need to jump ship before 2027 at some point... Not looking forward to that... but will probably move mastodon into docker at that point.Or I might have just given up and moved everything into a k8s cluster by then.
