@feld @phryk @MochiWaifu The line between CISC and RISC, which was never clearly defined, is now fuzzier than ever. Can the ARMv8 ISA be considered RISC?That's why some people consider that those terms are already obsolete.

@phoe @sir The original toot was talking about FOSS projects, so I'm assuming most people involved have a technical background. Also, with the proper tools, IRC isn't hard to use at all.

Last night I've published the first version of flatkvm, a tool to easily run @FlatpakApps isolated with QEMU/KVM.Still an alpha, but the basic functionality is already there.https://github.com/flatkvm/flatkvm

@eskuero Cuando WhatsApp implementó cifrado e2e, los medios generalistas se hicieron eco y alabaron el cambio. A la gente le importa el cifrado, pero muchos estamos cansados de pedírselo a Telegram sin que nos haga ningún caso.

Still an early prototype, but this is flatkvm, a tool to easily run #FlatpakApps fully isolated with QEMU/KVM. This is what I've been doing when I should've been sleeping 😜https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nes9e8Frueg

@fdroidorg @bjoern @JayVii_de Hm... that's the "Firefox Developer Edition" logo, and it's trademarked. I wonder if Mozilla has changed its mind regarding third-party use of their logos, or they expect non-official builds to change it themselves.https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/foundation/trademarks/list/

I wasn't happy with sharing all clipboard updates on the Host with every @flatkvm session (a malicious app could be snooping), so I implemented a discrete mode and a helper tool ("flatkvm-paste") to only send data on-demand, and to an specific session. https://github.com/flatkvm/flatkvm-paste

IMHO, Wayland's biggest problem is that, while it brings a much need renewal to the Linux's display server stack, the *perceived* benefit from an end-user perspective is quite limited. This means you're stuck pitching *internal* improvements to non-devs, which is a vain task.

Yes, @mozilla makes mistakes (same as the rest of us humans). And yes, their last one was ugly. But, still, they're the only ones in the browser business trying to do the right thing. So I'll keep using Firefox, Focus, Send, and the rest of cool software they produce.

@Wolf480pl I do see your point here. I guess they'll justify their actions as a way to get their non-power users to install the fix, but it's still a bit ugly.

@Wolf480pl Well, there's IceCat fro GNU, and I personally use Fennec on Android and a flatpak build on GNU/Linux (with flatkvm), but of course none of them are officially supported by Mozilla.

Even though they barely mention it, this is an excellent showcase of the amazing performance Linux KVM (and QEMU!) provides these days.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TBQ_DHCtmI

@Gargron I have some spare cycles, and I was thinking about implementing a (optional) Mastodon-Lightning Network integration, so users can easily tip admins and other users. Much like tippin.me or bottle.li, but decentralized, with each (opted-in) Mastodon instance acting as a tipping jar.Would you be interested in such development? I can open an issue in GitHub to discuss it in detail.
