@ChrisWere You've made a lot of assumptions here about my motivations and intentions.I'm not sure what the "cloud" iteration of the internet has taught "us", but having had a career in webhosting, being less thoughtful about using others' resources is not my takeaway.Maybe don't pre-judge someone's motivations, thoughtfulness, etc. from a less-than-500-word request for information.

@adam Web3 isn’t that though. It’s cryptocurrency and nft grifting. It’s blockchain as a solution searching for a problem. Even if Web3 were to mean a spike of self-hosting, how many are doing that hosting on AWS, Azure, and GCP?

@adam Ah, my apologies for not grokking the nuance here.The current, vernacular web3 is strongly associated with the grifting and scamming going on by those in the cryptocurrency and NFT arenas. For example, https://web3isgoinggreat.com/Unfortunately, I do not have even a good idea (let alone a viable one) about how to return the association of the term with the ideals you've mentioned.
