Hey all, I'm looking for a Peertube instance that's focused on gaming videos. I'm looking to move my VOD archive off of YouTube, but the upload size is too big for the servers I've found.I could edit them to be smaller, but that's a serious time investment that I'm not sure I have.Boosts appreciated.

@skipfordj This is just my 2 cents as a PeerTube creator and streamer myself.I feel like tools like Invidious really help us here. The trouble with YouTube is they have conditioned us to think that video hosting is cheaper and easier that it is. It's one of the techniques they use to secure their monopoly.Personally, the cost of hosting all my old gaming streams, just isn't worth it. I clip a few special moments, but #PeerTube has given me the eyes to see the true cost of video hosting.

@ChrisWere While I appreciate the response, when asking "how do I do this thing?", it is rarely helpful to get a response of "don't do that thing."

@skipfordj I understand you don't think it's helpful, but I'm just trying to say that what you're asking for is a lot.If you're just looking for a PeerTube instance to dump a stack of content that's of little interest to anyone but yourself, then that could be seen as taking advantage of some poor soul's good will.I'm not telling you not to do anything, I'm just saying, Google/YouTube has deliberately taught us to be less thoughtful about these things.

@ChrisWere You've made a lot of assumptions here about my motivations and intentions.I'm not sure what the "cloud" iteration of the internet has taught "us", but having had a career in webhosting, being less thoughtful about using others' resources is not my takeaway.Maybe don't pre-judge someone's motivations, thoughtfulness, etc. from a less-than-500-word request for information.

@skipfordj Sorry, didn't mean to upset you there. To my mind, https://bittube.video probably has one of the biggest allowances, although not a gaming instance.https://open.tube does seem to offer unlimited uploads, it's not a gaming instance either.I'm sure you've thought of it, but why not self host?

@skipfordj @ChrisWere The theory of the cloud was scalable hosting. You can then respond to traffic in "bursts."Instead, it seems to mean renting virtual servers with no burst capability.
