@hyde True, many times it's easier to understand the use of a command with examples rather than the whole documentation papyrus. In the end, this bear isn't that lazy otherwise he would have sent everyone to fuck off and closed the terminal. :blobcatcoffee:

These days I've been thinking about DeGoogling my website. I use two things:- Fonts- AnalyticsToday I worked on fonts. In particular, I saw an open-source project that allows Google fonts to be hosted on the site without having to have a reference with it.Great, I have eliminated many lines of code and now also the CSS of the font goes through the asset minification of Hugo. :bongoCat: https://github.com/majodev/google-webfonts-helper/#Google #Hugo

@rolle I'd be careful to make it too similar to Twitter, you could find a billionaire out the door who wants to throw money and then make it all fail miserably. :blobcatcoffee:

@noellemitchell A good advice may be to try one of the many linux distributions present in a virtual machine, on another computer, through the live function of the distro, etc.Avoid such an abrupt passage, but get used to it slowly and check that everything is as you want, it is essential not to give up immediately and go back to your old system. :blobcatcoffee:

@hyde Unfortunately, money is money. And this is a real shame because, in my opinion, Reddit is a great platform with huge potential.Think that if I have to look for something, many times I write "query + Reddit" and I always manage to find the solution in a simple and immediate way. Also, there're many detailed posts from users trying and testing everything, you get feedback right away.I'm really sorry that Reddit is going "Twitter-style".

@rolle Why centralize an algorithm when you could give users the ability to create their own "algorithm"?Something more personalized like it works for #. For example the user could choose to prioritize some elements over others and his timeline adjusts to these choices.

@rolle Unfortunately, the problem is that for many people the concept of "there's an algorithm that improves your interaction with our social network" is equivalent to something like "give me all your data", and in some ways most of the time it is true.Instead the idea of giving the user the possibility to choose how he wants to manage their "algorithm" can be interesting. It will be the user to choose which data to share to improve the selection of elements such as posts.

@hyde It's perfect for making your colleagues angry when they ask you for something. Anyway yes, there are moments when the sun is beating down hard on the glossy screen I'm using, and only the color white can save me. I would hate to change the monitor since it still works well; however, the next one absolutely must have a matte screen.

@stfn I think it depends on your needs; I would probably go for something like all six HDDs with RAID 10. It offers high read/write speed thanks to RAID 0, redundancy thanks to RAID 1, and it can tolerate the loss of up to 3 disks, one per each pair, without data loss.

@stfn Yes, exactly, and, regardless of the configuration you choose, backup, backup, and more backup.
