       The Q nightclub nightmare was made less so by the combat training of a multiple deployed veteran who defended the right to have a Club Q in the first place (and said so). He helped others know what to do (who didn’t have his training).He applied combat tourniquets to help save the injured. He used combat training to save lives. He defended Club Q in the middle of the combat zone that America has become.

       @ivory has stopped loading pictures of posts and profile pictures. When I open a post in a browser, all load fine. I shutdown my iPhone and restarted with same result.

       @liztai I used to use a scheduled time for weekly review but I found that for me it is a day specific task (rather than time specific), so I use a repeating entry (in Apple Reminders) with a link to my customized weekly review checklist (in Apple Notes) and a link to Meg Edwards podcast of a guided weekly review. My checklist lets me stop and start the review as needed. The recording lets me be reminded of what each step is about. The one thing I do for myself is give myself the lattitude to do as many of the steps as I feel I can. I get credit no matter how much I do because any review helps.

       Has iOS 17.1 been released yet? For some reason I’m reluctant to update until the .1 release has been out for a week or so. So many settings seem to revert on updates that I’m thinking of starting a setting tracker for any i change so I can validate them after updating. RIP it just works. #iOS

       @futurebird This is an excellent clear explanation of how we arrived here and it comes right from the authoritarian playbook. Keep people too busy to actually live and they will skip voting at all or striving for their rights. I keep getting shocked every time I encounter someone who didn’t vote or left the presidential vote blank. And it keeps happening.

       @aral It is precipitated by choke point capitalism.The book by that name describes it in detail. I like Venn diagrams; they can show us more nuance and detail in something, helping avoid false dichotomies and oversimplified statements. Enshitification is largely contained within capitalism and brings more information to the conversation.

       @futurebird @aud I once had an old television with a big crack in the glass over the screen. It worked perfectly during the shows but for some reason, when it went to commercials, the sound would buzz and the vertical and horizontal hold would lose its mind. When the show came back on, everything was fine. I miss that old set.

       @Nonilex The sibling studies are what killed this whole thing as far as I’m concerned. There were enough siblings where mom had Tylenol with one child and not the other. The connection completely fell away. And there is absolutely no dose response. More Tylenol during pregnancy did mean more likely for the child to have autism.
