@realcaseyrollins I think it is cultural. Mastodon people tend to be more noisy and opinionated. They like to boost, spread and support their like-minded opinion. Whereas pleroma/akkoma/rebased users tend to be more expressive, lax, and less moderated. They cared more about expressing themselves (like posting memes/shitpost) than to post something that may generate engagement for them. source: i have a selfhosted akkoma instance where I interact with people like them.

@charadon lol, you are right.. π€£ there are some monster java apps outta there, but there are also many small java apps that has low ram usage, compared to any electron apps that always use 150mb+ ram even for simple things, they feels lighter.. :D

@charadon I think it is more about they ditch AWT and use swing/swt instead. I heard AWT is heavy. CMIIW, java se 6-7 is the time I start to learn programming in university, so may be I forgot or may be I understand things wrong.. π
