       This may be a bit of a hot take, but I think electron apps is basically the modern equivalent of everyone distributing stuff as java jars lol

       @charadon lol, you are right.. 🤣        there are some monster java apps outta there, but there are also many small java apps that has low ram usage, compared to  any electron apps that always use 150mb+ ram even for simple things, they  feels lighter.. :D

       @s4if@linuxrocks.online I remember the days of using Java 6 for some programs I used to use on a regular basis. It's uh, definitely gotten better at memory management since then lol

       @charadon I think it is more about they ditch AWT and use swing/swt instead. I heard AWT is heavy. CMIIW, java se 6-7 is the time I start to learn programming in university, so may be I forgot or may be I understand things wrong.. 😅
