Posts made from #Pleroma, #Rebased, #Akkoma, etc. rarely get this much engagement (likes and boosts). It’s a uniquely #Mastodon phenomenon across the #Fediverse. Is this something about #Mastodon culture? Or merely worse decentralization across #Mastodon in comparison to #Pleroma, #Rebased, and #Akkoma? Or is it cultural?

@realcaseyrollins I think it is cultural. Mastodon people tend to be more noisy and opinionated. They like to boost, spread and support their like-minded opinion. Whereas pleroma/akkoma/rebased users tend to be more expressive, lax, and less moderated. They cared more about expressing themselves (like posting memes/shitpost) than to post something that may generate engagement for them. source: i have a selfhosted akkoma instance where I interact with people like them.

@realcaseyrollins I remember hearing that there are more people on the Mastodon side. But I don't know if that's true or not.

I had thought it was fairly even, but I don’t know that for sure.

@realcaseyrollins @Hyolobrika Stats on fedi don't mean much as it's difficult to count properly in a decentralised system.

@realcaseyrollins @Hyolobrika Computers are great at maths as long as they're independent of each other. You probably have worked with threads to know how easy it's to fuck things up when operating on a single data point.
