@stux thanks! i have nothing on any social media app that is really "private". so i am good. i am just stunned at how easy it is to access the contents of DMs etc. guess it's just a good reminder to be wary of what instance you're on and who the admins of that instance are.

@evelyn yup. agreed. just now we've gone from a centralized highly controlled and regulated environment, to a distributed environments comprising servers sitting under someone's desk somewhere. the risk vector is much higher imho. but maybe that's because i don't inherently mistrust big tech like others do.

Reading up on Wayne Brown "Mr fix Auckland" makes me think he doesn't have a clue how a council works, or what a mayor does. Even though he was mayor of the Far North (how'd that work out?). Also, "his team includes Mathew Hooton" .... enough said! #Auckland deserves better.

Surely someone who doesn't even live in #Auckland (currently based in Mangonui) is immediately disqualified from thinking they can fix the city. Aucklanders, do you really want someone that fcked up the Far North during his stint there coming in to your city and doing the same?

I am sick and tired of people thinking being a "businessman" in any way qualifies you to be a public servant. Councils and governments ARE NOT BUSINESSES that should be run for profit. They are there to serve the public and provide services.
