Glass isn't porous. Glass doesn't degrade. Glass is infinitely washable and re-usable. There are chemistries of glass that are resistant to thermal shock and are damn-near unbreakable. There are compositions of glass that break into pebbles instead of shards.You want smart glass? You can embed indium-tin-oxide into it and make electrically conductive traces. Dunno why you want that in a food container but I guess that's cool; maybe self labeling containers idk

Still remember this time I was looking out the window at the place I worked and was watching someone use a traffic cone to try and scrape the ice off their windshield.My coworker just mumbled "that's not how you install VLC on windows" to himself as he walked by looking and nobody will ever tell a better joke than that.

I want to get better at databases. I had already been working with them on my own when I had the opportunity to take a class in them, but I kinda fucked off thinking that my suprr 1337 PHP MySQL experience was enough; and I am kinda regretting that now that I have the experience to know that I don't really know shit. Like, I know shit, enough to be dangerous, but...Anyone got any good resources on the topic? Down to read it all; Theory, hands on query crafting, etc. Things related to the care and feeding of the elephant database would be a plus, too.

Have you ever thought about how degrees F is a very human-centric way to measure the temperature? 0? too cold, but survivable with the right clothing. 100? too hot, but survivable with the right clothing. The numbers in the middle? pretty nice!I think am in favor of measuring air temperature in F and everything else in C.
